Price Factors to Consider
Design Options
You might be surprised to learn that a freeform pool is often less expensive than a rectangle. This is because freeform shapes typically have less surface area than a rectangular pool of the same overall length and width. As you add built-in features—such as sun shelves, extra bench seating, custom steps, or integrated spas—costs will increase accordingly.

Pool Size
It’s simple math: as the pool gets bigger, the price goes up. Gunite pools are priced based on square footage, as larger pools require significantly more materials and labor to construct. Whether you choose a compact plunge pool or a sprawling backyard retreat, size will be a key factor in your budget.

Feature
Waterfalls, slides, diving boards, infinity edges, lighting effects—these elements bring personality, excitement, and beauty to your pool. However, each feature comes with additional costs, and the more elaborate or oversized the feature, the higher the investment. That said, we love helping clients turn dream ideas into reality!

Patios
One of the unique advantages of working with Chameleon Pools and Patios is our in-house concrete division. By handling the work ourselves, we avoid subcontractor markups and maintain tighter control over quality, timelines, and pricing. For those who prefer other finishes, we also work with trusted partners to offer a variety of coping and paver options.

Location
While our primary service area is Niagara and Erie counties, we’re happy to travel for the right projects. If you’re outside our usual territory, reach out to see how we can accommodate you—just ask our happy customers in Rochester and Erie, PA!
Location in the yard matters too! If the pool is pushed far from the house, be prepared to pay for additional utility costs for the filtration equipment.
